Will performance impact be big if network requests were recorded all the time while web inspector is open? Quite annoying to click on it every now and then.

The record button itself could just enable secondary timelines (events and layout), network will be enabled 100% of time when web inspector is up

We have a Network Tab now that should satisfy this. Let us know if that misses a particular case for you. (You can reopen or file new bugs).
