Inside the dispatchEventAtBubbling(), the event is propagated to JSEventListener, which calls onClick(). jquery detaches the <span> node and creates/attaches a new one. Returning from dispatchEventAtBubbling(), the current node is already detached so bubbling the event up to the <form> fails. (the current node is not part of the tree anymore -> no bubbling) It works on FF.
