We currently depend on D-Bus and UPower for our Battery Status API implementation and Eeze (which is just a tiny wrapper around udev) for our Network Information API. These dependencies are at the wrong level; we shouldn't directly depend on a certain IPC system or a certain OS-dependent system information API. We should just forward some signals and get information back from the implementer instead.
