-webkit-line-box-contain: glyphs replaced;
-webkit-transform-origin-y: 0px;
-webkit-transform: scaleY(7.5);

The box should contain the character without any overflow.

Interesting. Repros for me in Linux, but works fine on Mac.

Yeah, unfortunately, this is very font-dependent. If you change the font, it repros differently (i.e. the character is fully contained, but there is extra whitespace).

All three browsers (Chrome Canary 122, Firefox Nightly 123 and Safari Technology Preview 186) look different on macOS Sonoma 14.2.1.
