Using Up/Down arrow keys for navigating through search matches in search toolbar. Currently the search field supports using the Enter/Shift+Enter to navigate forward/backward with the search matches. That said, it would be more intuitive to use the arrow keys as it can be achieved with a single key press. Also while navigating the matches, the arrow key positions tend to be more comfortable. I intend to add this gesture but before that I would like to know the feedback. PS: The same feature can be observed implemented by gEdit version 3.4.1 on ubuntu 12.04.

I don't have a strong opinion here. In TextMate, moving cursor around results in navigating the editor text, in Sublime we iterate the search history. I don't think we should use gEdit as a reference here anyways. I would leave things as is for now (where Up/Down move cursor to the beginning/end of the focused search field). It seems like the standard behavior we can't be wrong about.

I appreciate your opinion on this. While i still think that something could be done by using the arrows keys, since all 4 keys focus inside the search bar only. Either iterate over previous searches (as in sublime) or navigate through the searches or any other feature could be added.

Closing as invalid, as this bug pertains to the old inspector UI and/or its tests. Please file a new bug (https://www.webkit.org/new-inspector-bug) if the bug/feature/issue is still relevant to WebKit trunk.
