I cannot reproduce this with Safari 6.0.2 on OS X 10.8.2.

Screen shot of desktop with CenturyLink displayed including URL Fails every time as shown in screen shot on my MacBook Pro 10.8.2, Safari Version 6.0.2 (8536.26.17, 537+) What other action is needed to better define the problem?

The CenturyLink page does display correctly on my wife's 2011 vintage iMac

Did you try disabling extensions? It might be one of those causing the issue.

Found it.... dumped the .plist files Problem solved
