To repro:
Open a new tab with this http://www.xonko.com/xMini/index.html
switch back to this tab. You'll still see the shockwave from the previous tab.

This behavior is the same in ToT as in current released Safari.

Looks like an OpenGL issue, works as expected if the Shockwave content is forced to run in software rendering mode. You can force Software Rendering mode by contextual-clicking on the content and selecting Always Use Softtware Renderer for the 3D Renderer menu.

This greatly impacts performance, and is not an acceptable solution.
But it shows the difference between OpenGL and software rendering.

The Internet Archive seems to have some versions of this page cached (that may be useful for testing):

You can demonstrate the issue with this demo:
http://informationgift.com/mm/tron/opengl_bug.dir
NOTE: since there is not yet an official native Shockwave for Intel Macs, unless you are an Adobe beta site, this must be tested on a PPC.
I can confirm that the issue still exists in Safari 3 on Leopard using the above demo url.

Comment 06 refers to https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5721 test URL, which is marked as "RESOLVED WONTFIX" due to lack of NPAPI support and Adobe Director being end of life / support. Can this be marked as duplicate of 5721 or same as other? Thanks!
