Steps to reproduce: 1. Using STP Release 177 (Safari 17.0, WebKit 19617.1.4.3) 2. type about:blank in the URL bar and return 3. Open Web Inspector 4. Go to Search (magnifier at the end of the top bar of Web Inspector) 5. Type 'a' in the search bar 6. Close the Web Inspector window 7. Enter https://nytimes.com/ (or any sites with a lot of JS) 8. Open Web Inspector tool (Command + Option + I) It should open directly on the search Result: Spinning wheel, CPU for Web Inspector skyrockets (200%). The Web Inspector is basically unusable. I need to close it and even restart STP to get back on track. Also I need to open an about:blank window, before opening the Web Inspector so I can remove the 'a' which creates the gigantic search.
