Regression: Safari Tech Preview Release 148 (Safari 16.0, WebKit 17614.1.17.1) and Safari Public Beta for Monterey Version 16.0 (17614.1.16.3, 17614) using macOS 12.5 Beta (21G5056b) This did not happen with Safari 15 and I'm 90% sure it did not happen with Safari Tech Preview 147. 1. Watch any video on YouTube 2. File > New Tab 3. Switch back to the video The video is not shown. You'll note there's a slight audio hiccup when making the new tab; I'm guessing this is youtube going into an audio-only mode. There doesn't seem to be anything logged to the developer console relevant. Reproduces 100% of the time for me. I've disabled all extensions, adblockers, and tried in private mode; this still reproduces.

While bug 241628 doesn't necessarily sound like the same issue, we had other recent reports for the YouTube symptom which have been tracked down to that.
