I cannot confirm the bug in the latest Webkit r31114 on Mac OS X 10.5. Norman, is it still visible to you in the latest Webkit nightly?
Norman Williams
It appears this is related to Google's partners web code. The www.gmail.com with regular GMail login works fine. The gmail.gallaudet.edu will be redirected to gmail and the shift key pressing in body message compositing will cause focus to go to subject box. Very strange problem.
This still exists in released Safari 3.1 too.

One more thing. The just released Windows version of Safari 3.1 did not show any problems with the shift key in the body message area. Only at gmail.gallaudet.edu for Google partners.

I can confirm that bug in Gmail but only in UI=1: http://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=1 It's a duplicate report.
