* SUMMARY An unprintable character ("empty box" or "tofu" as one reporter called it) is displayed after "color: transparent;" style in the "Computed Style" box on the right side of the Web Inspector. * STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Safari/WebKit. 2. Launch Web Inspector. 3. Inspect invisible text (use Cmd-A to see where it is). * RESULTS An unprintable character appears after "color: transparent;" in the "Computed Style" box. * REGRESSION Unknown. * NOTES Noticed while inspecting the test page for Bug 16132.

That's not a missing glyph -- it's a color swatch. Try replacing "color: transparent" with "color: red" and see that the square changes color to red.
