Summary Shockwave Flash plugin doesn't start

Reported 2006-05-13 12:22:28 PDT
The Flash plugin in the middle of the page doesn't start, but only shows "Macromedia Shockwave". This is with Flash 8.0.24.0 and Shockwave 10.1.1.016 (both the latest). The same happens for Safari 2.0.3.

Interestingly, the same file opens OK in its own window: <http://us.a1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/a/ad/adidas/ukcountdown_220x85_122005.swf?>.

I can add that it does start if I download the web page locally using Firefox' "download complete web page", and then open it, but it doesn't start if I create a web archive of the page from Safari.

The site has apparently changed, and no longer includes Flash or Shockwave content. Do you still have the webarchive that can be used to reproduce this problem?

Created attachment 11181 [details] Web archive of the problematic page If the flash ad works as it should, it will show a black countdown thing. You see the bug if it just shows a macromedia logo and a progress bar. The countdown will not move, as its target date has already passed.

I no longer see this bug in nightly 17149, using the attached web archive. It still exists in released Safari. Marking as WORKSFORME.
