Using 2006-02-14 r12804 of WebKit on Mac OS X v10.4.5, I am unable to log into www.hrblock.com under the tax client login menu. Authentication appears to complete successfully, but where the content of the page is to appear, there is no content displayed for the user. This problem also occurs in previous version of WebKit, including 417.9. The problem does not occur with Firefox 1.5 on Mac OS X v10.4.5. During authentication, a request is sent to https://taxes.hrblock.com/hrblock/login/Login.hrbx. If the request is successful, the client is redirected to https://taxes.hrblock.com/HRBlock/interview/PageTemplate.hrbx?tn=Login&taxtype=OPP. If authentication is not successful, the client is redirected to https://taxes.hrblock.com/hrblock/login/PageTemplate.hrbx?tn=Login&error=e1. In either case, content should appear to either open a new browser window or have content appear to allow the user to re-authenticate. The page uses https://taxes.hrblock.com/hrblock/Scripts/XmlUI.Library.js to control the web application. I can't tell if this is an XML DOM issue or a Javascript issue at the moment. (There doesn't seem to be any issues appearing the the Javascript console).

Just a bit of news: H&R Block has discontinued the Macintosh version of its "TaxCut" income tax preparation software. The company cited declining support and claims that its web-based "TaxCut Online" product will continue to support Mac users, including the ability to import tax data files from previous years. With the discontinuation of their software for the Mac and their expectation that those affected users will use their web-based application, this issue is now likely to become more visible.

This site seems to work just fine now - I suppose that this is due to server-side changes. Please re-open if you still see this problem.

Mass moving XML DOM bugs to the "DOM" Component.
