Summary find-in-page ctrl+f shortcut stops working

hit ctrl+f, enter text, click on the page. Hit ctrl+f again does not put focus back into the find text box. Escape does not close the find menu. There is no way to enter a new search without using the mouse.

This sounds like a Safari issue, which should be reported to bugreport.apple.com.
