It's hard to tell what is happening here, but it looks like the hang is occurring inside Adobe Flash when the window or tab is being closed. It's not immediately clear how this could be WebKit's fault.

Steven, what version of Flash do you have installed? Which version of Safari and Mac OS X are you using? Are you able to reproduce the issue?

Flash: 9.0.115.0 Safari: 3.0.4 (5523.10.6) Mac OS X: 10.5.1 (9B18) I have not been able to reproduce this issue nor have I run into it again.
