In the new gmail interface, open a message with at least one label. There's a list of labels at the top of the page, just under the subject. Instead of a column of labels under the header, it should probably be a horizontal list after the Subject. That's what Firefox does.

Gmail uses tables with display:inline. In quirks mode, WebKit just turns those into display:inline-table. In strict mode, it still creates an anonymous table (with display:table) to hold the table sections. This is what happens in Gmail. Firefox (versions 2 and 3) displays the tables inline.

Sounds like evangelism then. I don't think we should change this behavior, since it matches WinIE in quirks mode.

Gmail changed the tables to display:inline-table.
