Steps to reproduce:

1. Launch WebKit application (Safari w/nightly build in my case)

2. Launch Drosera

3. Tell Drosera to attach to WebKit application

4. Load a page with JavaScript in it (e.g. amazon.com)

5. Drosera crashes and burns

6. WebKit application is now unable to load or render any content whatsoever and must be relaunched

If I had to take a guess at what was happening I'd say some Distributed Objects code wasn't handling errors very well, but I have not looked at the sources at all. This is 100% reproducible on three different machines all running 10.4. Here's a crash log:

Some pretty major changes were being made to Drosera at the time and you may have caught it at a bad moment.

Does the latest nightly build still crash for you?

It no longer crashes on Leopard, it just takes over 5 minutes for it to load anything once attached--during which time I get continuous "Slow Script" warning dialogs from Safari--so it's still completely unusable.

Exact same problems everytime I've ever tried drosera over the past 3 months. I was starting to think I was the only person who ever tried to use this thing, but unless I go take a walk around the block and ignore the slow script warnings for over 20 minutes (on an Intel Core 2 machine), I never get anywhere on anything but the simplest javascript pages.

Even on those magical occasions when you do get it to load your script, it still displays virtually no useful information for any of your variables, making console.log() the only practical option. Of course there's the vastly superior-in-every-way Firebug, but then you're not debugging you script in WebKit anymore and you may see different behavior.  

I refuse to believe that anyone uses Drosera for anything other than padding a résumé.

Not an issue in the new Web Inspector debugger. Closing since Drosera doesn't exist.

Closing since Drosera has been replaced by the new Web Inspector debugger. Moving to the New Bugs component so the Drosera component can be closed and removed.
