Thank you for your bug report!

Which key combinations do not work? There are several of those in Safari for going back and forward. Also, are you using U.S. keyboard layout, or some other one?

Keyboard: Swedish PRO
This keys: alt - command - 8
and of course: 9

I used the keys that the menu suggest for the short-cut,
checked with keyboard pallette that the key stroke was correct.

Is this when viewing any HTML page, or do you see issues when going between HTML and PDF documents (for example)? Do you have specific URLs that you reproduce this with?

Specific instructions on how to reproduce would be great. For example, this works for me:

1. Launch Safari/WebKit.
2. Go to URL: http://www.google.com/
3. Enter "asdf" in the search field, then hit "Enter".
4. Hit Command-Left-Arrow to go back.

No it does not work,
when following your suggestion, it just goes to another search engine, not the
preceding page that you chose to leave a second ago..... Right?

The command is
command - alt - arrow
i.e. 8 for back (Left arrow)
that should take you to the preceding page in your browsing history.
or 9 (Right arrow for forward, if you have any such
in your browsing history stack,

Correct. However, I don't have a German keyboard to test with. :)

Are you using the Safari 3 Public Beta? Do you have any Safari extensions (Saft, PithHelmet, etc.) installed?

I am using a swedish one...

I am running the Version 3.0.3 (522.12.1)
No ; I don't have any extensions.

Background: I have a Logitech trackball ( Trackman ) where the wheel is
so programmed, ever since Safari 2, to go-back in safarai history when pushed down,
but when safari 3 Beta came along it didn't work....
