(In reply to comment #0) > After entering user/pass in the applet neither the enter/return keys nor the > buttons do anything. Marcus, which version of Mac OS X are you using? Also, which version of Safari (2.0.4 or 3.0) are you using, and are you using a WebKit nightly build to duplicate this bug? Thanks!

I'm not Marcus, but I was using 10.4.9 on an Intel Mac, r23841 nightly with Safari 2.0.4, and Java 1.5.0_06. I cannot reproduce this issue today on a G4 with 10.4.9, a local build of r24287/Safari 3.0, and Java 1.5.0_07.

I can not reproduce this now on the same Intel Mac; the only thing that changed was Java version (now it's also 1.5.0_07).

Marcus, what version of Java do you have installed? Does upgrading to 1.5.0_07 fix the issue?

Going to mark this as fixed per Alexey's Comment #5. Marcus, if you're still seeing the issue with Java 1.5.0_07 or newer, please reopen this bug (or create a new one). Thanks!

I use: Safari 2.0.4 OS X: 10.4.10 Java: 1.4.2 (installed, although the plugin page says 1.3.1) HW: Powerbook G4 It works fine in Safari - and has done so almost since the first versions. When I use the Webkit (24285) it doesn't work. When I wrote "buttons" it's not real Java buttons, but links that look like buttons, they don't work. Also hitting Return in the password field does not submit the form. I'll try with a newer Java.

While it's very important to test whether updating the Java runtime fixes this issue, it doesn't seem appropriate to require updated Java; re-opening.

(In reply to comment #9) > I use: > Safari 2.0.4 > OS X: 10.4.10 > Java: 1.4.2 (installed, although the plugin page says 1.3.1) > HW: Powerbook G4 Do you have more specific Java version information? There is usually an "_0X" string on the end. You must use "java -version" (assuming "java" is in your path in the Terminal application) to get the more detailed version.

My Java is 1.5.0_07 Why does the plugin-page say 1.3.1?

I can get it to work! The Java form works properly as long as I have Safari running alongside the WebKit. If I Quit Safari it stops working. Start Safari again and it works. I don´t have to load any Java in Safari

Sounds like running the WebKit nightly does something that makes Java not work correctly. Any ideas Mark?

From r24594 it works. Just checked again with r24668 - still works. I don't know what you changed - but leave it that way :)
