Pressing the Delete ("backspace") key in Tiger Mail should delete the currently open message. With TOT, if the message is an HTML message, pressing Delete doesn't do anything. In fact, other keys do not work as expected either: Page Up and Page Down don't scroll the message. However, that can be fixed by clicking the message area once. To reproduce, open the attachment, copy it to the clipboard, select the Inbox in Mail and choose Edit > Paste, to add the HTML message to your inbox. Then open the message (in a separate window) and press Delete.
