RESOLVED WORKSFORME 14161
Browser crash when loading Java applets in the background
https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14161
Summary Browser crash when loading Java applets in the background
Alex Stapleton
Reported 2007-06-15 03:14:23 PDT
Open the URL and open any of the demo applets in a new tab. The tab must be opened in the background and you shouldn't switch to it until the applet has loaded. After 10-15 seconds to allow the applet to load try and switch to the tab with the applet in. The browser should crash. I am using Java Plug-in 1.5.0 Using JRE version 1.5.0_07 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM However I do have Java 6.0 installed from ADC, this bug is reproducible no matter which VM I set in my Java prefs though.

Thanks for the bug report, Alex! Could you attach crash logs for Safari and/or Java VM? Thanks! May be related to Bug 14018.

Marking as Windows-only since Alexey and I can't reproduce a crash on Mac OS X. Alex, if you could attach a crash log from OS X, that would be helpful as well. http://webkit.org/quality/crashlogs.html#mac

Alex, can you reproduce this bug with a newer build? I cannot reproduce with today's TOT on my Windows system.

Can't reproduce with Safari for Windows 310a18 seed with J2SE 6 1.6.0 (build 1.6.0_03-b05) on Win XP Pro SP2. Alex, please reopen the bug if this occurs again.
