Summary Status bar stalls when loading page.
Brandon Petersen
Reported 2007-05-16 16:16:34 PDT
The status bar in the address bar pauses midway. It does not seem to show a functional problem because the pages seem to have loaded fine.

Thanks for the bug report! Does this happen in a WebKit nightly build? http://nightly.webkit.org/ Also, do you have an input managers, haxies or APEs (like Saft, SafariStand, PithHelmet, etc.) installed? (If you do, the Nightly WebKit build will warn you about them.) Please try removing/disabling them if you have any installed, then try testing again. I can't reproduce this with a local debug build of WebKit r21517 with Safari 2.0.4 (419.3) on Mac OS X 10.4.9 (8P135).

BTW, is the spinner still spinning? How long have you waited for the page load to complete? Have you checked the "Activity Window" (from the "Window" menu) to see if Safari is still trying to load a resource? I noticed on http://blog.electromneyin2008.com/ that a particular resource timed out when loading the page, which would give the effect you're seeing (especially if it was image or JavaScript script used for hit tracking): http://www.bloggingstats.com/counter.php?i=21&r=&n=Mozilla/5.0%20%28Macintosh%3B%20U%3B%20PPC%20Mac%20OS%20X%3B%20en%29%20AppleWebKit/522+%20%28KHTML%2C%20like%20Gecko%29%20Safari/419.3&p=Mozilla/5.0%20%28Macintosh%3B%20U%3B%20PPC%20Mac%20OS%20X%3B%20en%29%20AppleWebKit/522+%20%28KHTML%2C%20like%20Gecko%29%20Safari/419.3&g=http%3A//blog.electromneyin2008.com/&sd=24&sw=1280x854 If this is the issue, there's nothing that can be done to "fix" it.
