For the following HTML sample taken from Wikipedia: <p><a href="/wiki/Japan" title="Japan">Japan</a></b> is an <a href="/wiki/Island_nation" title="Island nation">island nation</a> in <a href="/wiki/East_Asia" title="East Asia">East Asia</a>.</p> VoiceOver will say this when reading the paragraph group: group [pause] japan [pause] is an [pause] island nation [pause] in [pause] east asia [pause] period It should be: group [pause] japan is an island nation in east asia

since these are different elements, VoiceOver puts audio spacing between them to inform that they are separate
