Description Nicholas Shanks 2007-05-09 02:35:26 PDT
In FF and Opera, the menus at register.com (under the logo and banner ad) appear vertically. In Safari 2.0.4 and ToT, they appear horizontally, i.e. one item to the right of the previous.
After discussing the issue with register.com support personnel it became apparent that they couldn't see the issue because they were (at least in the tech support dept.) using Safari v1.2, and I suspect the site's developers are using the same version. I don't know whether they are detecting Safari and working around a bug in 1.2 that was fixed in later versions (and in so breaking their workaround), or if it's a bug in Safari 2.0 and the same code is being served to Opera and us, but it needs to be checked out in case it's our bug.

The support person kept insisting i check with my system administrator that my "browser settings were correct"... *sigh*. Filed under CSS because that's probably what they're using for the menus.

Based on the reduction I'm pretty sure this bug is a duplicate.
