onmouseout isn't triggered if the cursor moves directly off an element and out of the iframe. In the example, the row of thumbnails borders its containing iframe on the top and bottom. You'll notice that vertically moving the mouse off the thumbs doesn't fade them or the captions above as it does in Firefox.

I can reproduce this with shipping Safari, but not with a current nightly build from <http://nightly.webkit.org>.
