To reproduce the problem start the browser demo in reverse mode, go to trolltech.com website, type  something in the search field on the page and then right-click on it to change the text direction.

Initially reported in 4.5.0.
Moving to P5 until its confirmed to still exist

Couldn't see anything different in reverse mode than when not in reverse.
here is a problem with the caret though when entering RTL text in an LTR box and vices versa. See bug #24278 for that.

Resolving as work for me.
