Pirate Praveen
Reported 2025-03-25 06:29:30 PDT
BoringSSL license changed to Apache 2.0 last month, which makes it possible to use with GPL licensed software like epiphany web browser by gnome project. https://github.com/google/boringssl/commit/33d1049b1f730d2725bb09b2256fd5fe4c46b17e But webkit is currently using old version of BoringSSL with a GPL incompatible license https://github.com/WebKit/WebKit/blob/6926aa6be75b944cca5aaad690b217e80a5781a9/Source/ThirdParty/libwebrtc/Source/third_party/boringssl/src/LICENSE Please update the copy of boring ssl so webkitgtk can include this in the tarballs and enable it by default.

M138 is in main now. For wpe/gtk 2.50 we might ship libwebrtc in tarballs, I'm not sure about enabling it by default. Needs discussions among the maintainers. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 294606 ***
