Bug is a disconnect between the generated metal: struct __ArgumentBufferT_0 { const constant type1& global1 [[id(1)]]; const constant type2& global2 [[id(2)]]; }; [[fragment]] and the IDs being provided which are: 0 and 1 for the above bindings.
