Description Tomasz Wota 2009-02-20 00:13:13 PST
Using Webkit 525.19 (Google Chrome) I noticed that if I set CSS opacity:0.x on div which background-image is set to partially transparent PNG - the image looses its transparency in favour of white color.
I don't know if this problem is addressed in 528+

Can you please provide a test case that demonstrates this problem?
Comment 2 Tomasz Wota 2009-02-20 00:49:37 PST
I just made a testcase - and I had to modify this entry - the transparency is not loosed entirely, only those pixels that are "semitransparent" - partially transparent, or however I should call it - are improperly displayed. Fully transparent ones are left as they were.

I suspect this is a Chrome-specific bug as the test case behaves identically in Safari, a WebKit nightly build, and Firefox.

I downloaded Safari 3.2.2 (525.28.1) and run the test sample - no ugly white gif-like border around the red sample text.
It sure looks like Chrome specific bug.
