The electronic edition of Scott Myers' Effective C++ book doesn't work in Safari and Firefox, complaining that it cannot set cookies. Works in MacIE and Opera. I am working on a reduction.

document.cookie = "check=Cookie; path=/"; // displays an empty dialog in Safari alert(document.cookie); Somehow, I can no longer reproduce the problem in Firefox, must have been a testing mistake. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 6339 ***
