Does this never work for you, or just sometimes? If the latter, when does it fail?

I assume you are referring to the JavaScript live edit that does not show the error line number upon patch failure.

Yes. You are right.
When I press Command-S after made change in script editor, it report error, but didn't show the line number that cause error.
