Created attachment 116385 [details] scroll bars on SVG objects after zoom out This is repro in both Chrome and Safari which leads me to believe it's a core WebKit bug. Steps to reproduce: 1. Go to this page: http://www.akelai.fr/logo/ 2. Click the View/Zoom In menu item (optional) 3. Click the View/Zoom Out menu item Result Scrollbars around SVG objects Expected No scrollbars around SVG objects Reproducible 100% Impact is it makes the page look really bad. And this is blocking my ability to move from an image based web UI to a resolution-independent vector based web UI. Workaround is to not zoom, overshoot your desired zoom by one and then come back with a zoom in, or reload the page at the desired zoom level. Also reported on Stack Overflow (not by me.): http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8093643/chrome-and-svg-unwanted-scrollbars-after-zoomin-zoomout

While this is a cosmetic bug, the case can be made for its importance. As more web sites are getting viewed on devices of different screen sizes and resolutions, the ability to have resolution-independent graphics is increasingly important. Also, the fact that SVG is a vector format *encourages* people to play around with the zoom settings, if only to see how nice the objects look (no jaggies or blurring!) at different zoom levels. But more practically in finding an appropriate zoom level for the device they are on and their own viewing needs. (e.g. I crank up the zoom on all pages when viewing via the computer attached to my TV).

This was fixed in trunk last week, please check with a nightly - the problem is gone!

Great news. Sorry I didn't check the nightly builds first. I only looked at open bugs and the latest Chrome beta build.
