Created attachment 86012 [details] test case Open the attached test case. Click inside the editable region. Start deleting characters. When you reach the emoji, delete removes several extra characters.

Are you seeing this with ToT? Sounds like a duplicate of bug 55971/<rdar://problem/8725312>.
