Description Ronald Clifford Buckman 2011-02-08 22:07:03 PST
The video on that web page will not run in WebKitGTK+ browsers. It has been confirmed not to run in the following browsers.

Epiphany 2.30.6 on WebKitGtk 1.2.6
Midori 0.30 on WebKitGtk 1.2.6
dwb on WebKitGtk 1.3.10 Developmental
Uzbl on WebKitGtk 1.3.10

The video runs in Qt WebKit 2.0 in Arora. A KDE bug causes two instances of the video to run with a four second gap in Rekonq and Konqueror/WebKit.

I list it under Evangelism because this page has 59 validation errors at the W3C markup validator.

This works for me. Are you sure you have the proper gstreamer codecs installed?

I'm not sure we should track problems with this page's markup in the WebKit bug tracker. I'm going to reassign this to the WebKitGTK+ category.

This page doesn't contain any HTML5 video element, all I can see is Flash. Or did I miss something?

Just tried with the WebKitGTK+3 launcher and got a missing plugin message.

Ah, thanks Philippe! Ronald, are you running GTK+ 3.x?

I do have gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg, *-nice, *-plugins-base, *-plugins-base-apps, *-plugins-good, *-plugins-ugly, *-tools, *-x.

Every other video site that I tested including youtube, Yahoo videos, and Metacafe works well in WebKitGTK - 1.3.10. I am running Gtk+ 2.22 which is the latest version on Ubuntu's maverick repository.

What version of the Flash plugin are you using, since Philippe mentioned that this is a Flash movie?
Comment 8 Ronald Clifford Buckman 2011-02-15 15:03:33 PST
I am using Adobe flashplugin version 10.2.152.27 which is the latest version available in Ubuntu's maverick repository.

With 10.1 r82 it works fine, FYI

The link seems dead now, so I'll close the bug since we have no hope of reproducing it. If you find another non-functional vidoe, feel free to re-open with a new link.
