The problem seems like a really serious bug. Just sweeping it under the carpet is bad! (In reply to comment #1) Oh no, I'm not sweeping it under the carpet! In bug 41175 I'm explaining why I had to do it this way. In brief, it's a fix split across WebKit and Chromium. The WebKit patch had to appear first, then the Chromium patch had to appear second, and only then, this can be removed. Otherwise, it will appear as a regression. I'm still waiting for the Chromium patch to land. When it's landed, I can safely undo this. |
