I cannot reproduced the same sympthom. Anyway, we should have a test case for the problem.

Has been reproduced by Antti as well.
Make sure you use raster when trying to reproduce because the other backends have other issue with dragin gradietn with -background-clip: text.

I have tried it with -graphicssystem raster and I faced with a somewhat similar problem. When I zoomed in/out the whole viewport has changed effectively (when I zoomed out, the scrollbar got out from the viewport, and when I zoomed in the bottom and the left sides of the screen become emty and the scrollbar moved to left). Strange.... :(
