Is the newer Python needed to build, or just as part of the source code control?

A newer python is only required to run the following scripts: webkit-patch new-run-webkit-tests new-run-webkit-httpd new-run-webkit-websocketserver As well as the websocket tests (see bug 38034). The buildbot config, as well as QueueStatusServer and TestResultsServer also depend on a newer python. A newer python is not required to check out the source code or to build.

I should mention explicitly, that excepting the websocket tests (see bug 38034) python (of any version) is not required to run old-run-webkit-tests (aka run-webkit-tests).
