Description Kent Hansen 2010-03-23 08:12:10 PDT
This meta-bug collects WebKit build issues on Qt tier 2 platforms.

The tier 2 platforms as of Qt 4.6: http://qt.nokia.com/doc/4.6/supported-platforms.html#tier-2-platforms

While these platforms are not officially supported or tested by the WebKit buildbots, we would like to contribute build fixes if possible/sensible, so that users who try to build QtWebKit on these platforms stand a fighting chance.

The latest word from Thiago is that we can hold off on trying to upstream AIX/Solaris/HP-UX etc. fixes until we know what to do with the current tier 2 platforms for Qt 4.8.

We're investigating the possibility of having vendors (e.g. IBM) take on responsibility of making sure Qt builds on "their" platforms.

In the event that these platforms remain on tier 2 for 4.8, we will at least upgrade the toolchains, so that many of the fixes for the old compilers we are currently supporting can potentially be dropped.

Two years later I'm going to close this as WONTFIX :)
