`WI.DataGrid` styles include `white-space: nowrap` in an attempt to truncate with an ellipsis any long values in data grid cells. `white-space: nowrap` an inheritable property. All DOM elements created by `WI.ObjectPreviewView` nested within a data grid will inherit it. In some combinations this results in the entire object preview being hidden if its contents are long enough that they would wrap.
