1. Type something in textarea of text input field
2. Change the character encoding
3. All forms are cleared.
There's a very long standing gecko bug on this (almost 10 years old). IE also has the same issue.
I was bitten by this issue multiple times here and mozilla bugzilla (before it switched to UTF-8).
