In iOS 18 public beta (22A5307i), using MP4 files as "gifs" causes the video to stutter.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Use Safari on iOS 18.
2. Goto https://static.vg.no/img-mp4-example/
3. Video stutters.
This is working fine in previous versions of iOS / Safari.
Test device: iPhone 14 Pro

Thank you for the report. We haven't been able to reproduce this so far. Could you please try with the current beta?
Mads Erik Forberg
Still happening on iOS 18 build 22A5316k (public beta).

Just updated to beta 3 of iOS 18 (22A5326f) - and the issue seems to be resolved.
You can close this issue now. Thank you for following up :-)

Awesome, this explains why we couldn't reproduce! Thank you for the update.
