The speech recognition, using webkitSpeechRecognition, is taking a long time to recognize when the language set is "fr-BE".
On Safari for macOS the result of a simple sentence (Bonjour) took more than 30 seconds to be recognized, while on Safari for iPhone it took more than 3 minutes.
Short speeches in other languages take less than 5 seconds to be recognized.
You can test it here: https://codepen.io/GabrielNSD/pen/KKLjLPx
I have tested it on:
- macOS 14.5:
- Safari Version 17.5 (19618.2.12.11.6)
- Safari Technology Preview Release 196 (Safari 17.4, WebKit 19619.1.16.3)
- iOS and iPadOS 17.5.1:
- Safari
