TiddlyWiki[1] uses a Java applet called TiddlySaver to save to the local filesystem on WebKit-based browsers. On Safari, this applet does not work anymore[2] since upgrading to "Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 4". (It used to work just fine before.) While the applet can be run on a one-off basis (confirming once per browser session), choosing "Always trust content from this publisher." raises a Java exception (see attached screenshot[3] - unfrotunately, copying the full text is not possible). This results in the applet being treated as unsigned, rendering it unusable. A Java exception that was caused by installing a Java software update on Mac OS X is almost certainly a Java issue, not a WebKit one. I would recommend filing a bug report against Java with Apple at <http://bugreport.apple.com/>.
