Bug 267809 – Sound loop with WhatsApp notifications (again)

The bug is that the notifications in WhatsApp Web are reproduced in loop instead of only once.

Currently the bug can be reproduced using these versions of the software:
- Epiphany 45.1;
- WebKitGTK 2.42.3;
- GStreamer 1.22.8.

For some time this bug has returned to the limelight. In the past it had already been resolved (https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=189471).

This morning I tried to reproduce the issue and it showed up only once. After that, strangely, he no longer showed up (after a system restart). Currently the notification comes only once, even if not everything works as it should: for example, when the webapp is closed in the background, notifications do not arrive (previously yes). Updates have not been installed, so I don't understand how the issue has disappeared.

Trying to give the command...

GST_DEBUG_NO_COLOR=1 GST_DEBUG=3,webkit*:6 epiphany --application-mode --profile= ... 2> gst.log

...I get an empty file.

I kindly ask you to keep this bug open for a few more days, so that I can make further tests. It will be my concern to update you as soon as possible.

Update:

I was able to reproduce the log file (I didn't realize that the web app was running in the background; I apologize for the triviality of the error). However, despite getting the log file, I am unable to reproduce the issue now. Therefore I do not believe that the file contains relevant information. It would be helpful if someone could reproduce the issue.

Update 2:

I couldn't reproduce the bug of the notification but I was able to discover a similar bug that affects the reproduction of voice messages. Again, the reproduction continues in a loop instead of stopping at the end of the recording.
I hope there is something useful in the file that I'm attaching.

It seems that with the latest versions of WebKit and GStreamer the problem is solved. So I think this issue can be closed.
