I thought BUG209809 did add support for this. It's even be reported in https://developer.apple.com/documentation/safari-technology-preview-release-notes/stp-release-114#WebGL Has this been disabled later? I can't find any trace in the release notes.

Is this only supported for Safari 17+ on Mac OS Sonoma? Based on Safari 17 release notes, I would expect this to be supported on Safari 17+ on Mac OS Ventura as well.

Yes, OffscreenCanvas for WebGL requires macOS Sonoma, iPadOS 17 or iOS 17. Sorry that was not clear before.
