I'm running WordPress 2.7. I'm attempting to turn on "Turbo Mode" which will use Gears to speed things up. I press the "Enable Gears" button on the WordPress Tools page but nothing happens. It should come up with a notification from Gears asking if I want to authorize the page.
This operation does work when using Safari 3.2.1 from Apple.

This sounds much more likely to be a Google Gears issue than a WebKit issue, especially given the way in which it attempts to hook itself into Safari. You should file a bug report against Gears instead. Feel free to reopen this if there is some evidence that WebKit is at fault. You can file a report on Gears at <http://code.google.com/p/gears/issues/entry>.
