Tested on:
- Windows XP SP3
- Apple Safari for Windows 3.1.2 using the r39370 WebKit nightly build for Windows from http://nightly.webkit.org/
- Intel P4 2.4 GHz CPU (single core)
- javascript is enabled
How often it happens: always, if the following steps are reproduced
Steps to reproduce the crash:
1. start Safari, clear its cache (Edit -> Empty Cache), then clear its history (History -> Clear History), then clear all of its google cookies (Edit -> Preferences -> Security -> Show cookies -> select any google.com or mail.google com or www.google.com cookies and delete them by pressing "Remove")
2. close Safari
3. start Safari
4. do nothing else but browse to mail.google.com then log into a google mail account
5. at the end of the loading process, Safari throws an unhandled exception and the browser has crashed
Notes:
1) if accessing the Gmail account is not the first thing to be done, then it's possible that Safari will not crash.
2) this is more of a guess, but maybe when Safari loads Gmail and has to create some of the Gmail cookies, it will crash only if those cookies were not saved on disk and are being created now
The previous WebKit nightly build for Windows on nightly.webkit.org (r39293) does not crash during loading Gmail (but it will sometimes hang Gmail indefinitely with a Still working... message)
The next WebKit nightly build for Windows on nightly.webkit.org (r39370) does crash Safari.
