My name is Isidor and I work on VS Code.
Currently it is not possible to detect if an external keyboard has been connected to an iPad. 

We need this in order to customise how we focus editors so that the virtual keyboard does not pop up on the screen too aggressively.

We need to take into consideration that this would add fingerprinting attack surface.
