The Gamepad API added ongamepadconnected and ongamepaddisconnected event handler attributes as part of: https://github.com/w3c/gamepad/pull/144/ A patch is ready for Gecko, plus there is a commitment to add them to Blink also. Would be great to have them added to WebKit too.
