Hello,
The alert message shown by onbeforeunload doesn't look like an alert or a confirm box which are centered relatively to the browser window. Instead, it is centered on the screen and looks looks a system window.
Depending on the position and size of the browser window, the onbeforeunload window can appear without overlapping the webpage it's related to, which is pretty confusing.
